Below are instructions on how to set up Email for Students and Staff, Faculty & Adjuncts.

Student Email

Students can access their email account and sky drive, which provides 7 GB of storage that can be accessed from anywhere.

How do I set up student emails on an iPhone or Android device?

Instructions for iPhone:

  1. Go into “Settings”
  2. Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Add Account
  4. Select “Exchange”
  5. Enter credentials
    • Email:
    • Password: ********
    • Description: Student Email Account
  6. It will go through “Verifying” and depending on your OS it may request the following:
    • Email:
    • Server:
    • Domain:
    • Username:
    • Password: ********
    • Description: Student Email Account
  7. It will prompt you for your syncing preferences and then add your account.

Instructions for Android:

  1. From the home screen tap Applications > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > MAY HAVE TO SELECT “MAIL” HERE.
  2. Choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (may have to choose Corporate depending on your phone).
  3. Type in your Friends student email address (for example, and password, and tap Next.
  4. The account should automatically setup. If it does not, and asks for manual settings, type the following:
    1. Under Domain\username type your full email address
    2. Under Exchange server type
    3. Make sure Use secure connection (SSL) is checked.
    4. Tap Next.
  5. When the Remote security administration window pops up tap OK.
  6. On the next screen choose the sync options then tap Next.
  7. Under Give this account a name type a name for this account.
  8. Tap Done.

Staff, Faculty and Adjunct Email

Staff, faculty and adjuncts can access their Friends University email account with their network username and password.

How do I set up staff, faculty, or adjunct emails on an iPhone, Blackberry, or Android device?

  1. Turn off the Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Select either Exchange or Corporate depending on the phone for the type of account.
  3. Enter your full email address (for example,
  4. Enter for the server name.
  5. Select SSL (usually a checkbox).
  6. Leave the domain field blank.
  7. Enter your network username (for example, friends\freddy_falcon).
  8. Enter your network password.
