Presidential Transition

While change is occurring on the Friends University campus due to a presidential transition, one visible constant among the leadership of Dr. Biff Green and Dr. T.J. Arant is a commitment to students and the role of education to transform lives.

“Our founders’ desire to educate students who can change the world for the better is being realized on a daily basis.”
–Dr. Biff Green, 12th president of Friends University

“What excites me most about teaching and education is the power we have to change students’ lives.”
–Dr. T.J. Arant, 13th president of Friends University

After serving 20 years at Friends University, President Biff Green announced his retirement starting June 30, 2011. After his announcement, the Board of Trustees and its appointed search committee began looking for a presidential candidate to continue Friends University’s legacy into the future.

After months of exploring quality candidate options, the search parties appointed Dr. T.J. Arant as the next president of Friends University. With 30 years of higher education experience under his belt, Dr. Arant began his term July 1, 2011.
