Friends University Is a Great Value

Making every student matter is at the heart of what we do. That’s why many of our students and their families are willing to pay a bit more to receive this level of commitment and service.

More personal attention, care and concern
You won’t get lost in the crowd at Friends University. We get to know you personally and will build a relationship with you from your very first day on campus. We offer you exceptional support, guidance and assistance inside and outside the classroom.

More convenient and responsive to your needs
We were one of the first institutions in Kansas to structure courses so adult students could complete their associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees while maintaining work and family responsibilities. We partner with 15 community colleges to offer these programs throughout Kansas so adult students in rural Kansas can earn their degree close to home. We have established advisory boards for many academic programs to gain insight about how to keep our programs up-to-date and relevant. For more information on our outreach locations, click here.

Smaller classes mean more participation
An average class size of 14 students to one faculty member means you have more opportunities to participate in class. You can ask more questions and enter into engaging classroom discussions. You can conduct your own lab experiments rather than just watching others. You will get extra help and guidance from faculty who truly enjoy helping you grasp difficult academic concepts. If you are an adult learner who is anxious about returning to the classroom, you will get support and guidance from your instructors and other students just like you.

More involvement in campus activities
Traditional undergraduate students find it easier to be involved in more activities than may be possible at a larger school. You can be involved in sports, fine arts, student government, campus ministries, campus organizations, and much more. As a result, you will learn valuable lessons about teamwork, problem solving, decision-making, adapting to change, and many other valuable skills. For more information about campus life, click here.

More learning opportunities outside the classroom
We partner with companies and other organizations to offer you practical experience through internships and other real-world opportunities. You can also participate in service projects, research projects and study abroad opportunities to broaden your horizons.

Free and plentiful parking
Finding a parking space is rarely a problem on our campus, and you can get anywhere on our campus in less than five minutes.

A peaceful campus with 24/7 security

Our campus is located in a peaceful, residential area west of downtown Wichita. We offer 24/7 security on campus, with our officers patrolling campus areas, enforcing parking regulations and responding to any emergencies. To review our crime statistics, please click here.

Unrivaled residence halls and dining at incredibly reasonable prices
If you will be a traditional undergraduate student who plans to live on campus, we challenge you to find better residence hall or dining facilities at such reasonable rates at any other university in Kansas. We have three new residence halls that have been built within the past five years. Our recently renovated dining hall is among the best in the state and also offers the second least-expensive meal plan among Kansas independent institutions. Beautiful, well-maintained main campus
Our students love the wooded, 54-acre main campus with its well-maintained buildings and beautiful landscaping. The centerpiece of our campus is the Davis Administration Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more than 110 years, students have attended classes in this building that is one of Wichita’s most beloved and visible architectural treasures.

Only college football game in town

If college football is your sport, we offer the only college football game in Wichita! Our Friends University Falcon Football team has played in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national playoffs three times in recent history and the University has hosted the first-round, play-off game twice. We offer winning programs in 16 varsity sports, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to cheer on your favorite Friends University Falcons team.
