Wichita Community Children’s Choir

Founded in 1992 by Marilyn Killian and Barbara Bowers, the Wichita Community Children’s Choir is a select group of about 100 singers representing schools in Wichita and the surrounding community. It is led by Jennifer Crowley Johnson. Vocal music educators recommend students for audition. Choir membership reflects varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Stated goals are music literacy, development of proper vocal technique, excellence in choral music performance and an appreciation of music throughout life. Friends University has been the host institution since the choir’s inception.

The choir performs in Wichita and in selected regional and national venues by invitation.

Rehearsals are Thursdays from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. in the Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus in Wichita.
