Friends University’s Community Orchestra to Perform Nov. 2

Wichita, Kan. – The Friends University Community Orchestra will present their first performance of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. on the Sebits Auditorium stage.

“We are excited to perform an orchestra favorite – Beethoven’s 6th Symphony. It’s nicknamed ‘Pastoral’ for its depiction of country scenes ranging from a country dance to a thunderstorm,” said Dr. Lillian Green, Friends University’s director of strings and Community Orchestra conductor.

The concert will also feature the premiere of a composition entitled “Stages of Grief” by Friends University senior, Tucker Tasker. Alison Parker, another Friends University senior, will act as a guest conductor.

The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan., and the cost is $9 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased online at friends.edu/fineartstickets or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677.
