Debra Cox

Debi Cox, a Friends Universit graduate, returns to her alma mater to teach ceramics at Friends. Cox grew up in south central Kansas and has taught art and education classes in the Wichita vicinity for more than 35 years. She recently completed a MFA in Ceramics in spring 2015. Cox focuses on creating clay work, drawings, etc. from nature. She has a deep respect for design and nature’s forms. The duality of nature: loss, growth, renewal and life acts as a catalyst for connection and provides opportunity for conversation through her work. Her work was exhibited in the “Art Kansas Forum: a celebration of creating, curating and collecting Kansas Art” in June 2018 at McPherson Museum and her current work is curated by Reuben Saunders Gallery.
