Dr. Gary Leopold has been an active performer for nearly 20 years. He has performed in ensembles of all shapes and sizes from pit orchestras to big bands and from symphony orchestras to traveling circus bands. He has appeared with the Phoenix Symphony, Phoenix Grand Opera, Hollywood Hills Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony, Idaho-Washington Symphony, Wichita Symphony and Wichita Grand Opera. Prior to teaching at Friends University, Dr. Leopold taught trumpet and directed marching, jazz and concert bands in several universities throughout the country before returning to Wichita seven years ago. He is currently teaching the trumpet studio at Friends and is the director of bands at Wichita High School Northwest.
