Friends University to present concert March 11 featuring Jazz Combos and Jazz Vocal Ensemble

Wichita, Kan.– Friends University’s Jazz department will present a concert on March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sebits Auditorium featuring the Friends University Jazz Combos and the Jazz Vocal Ensemble.

The Jazz Combo portion of the concert will be directed by Dr. Robert Brooks. It will feature the four-person student band that played in the 2020 Jazz Festival, Accoustica.

The Jazz Vocal Ensemble, directed by Dr. Dale Heidebrecht, will perform songs such as “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder and “Strangers of the Heart” by Amanda Taylor Kunz.

The performance will take place in Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and students.
