Dr. Tony Wheeler has been a therapist since 1990 with his own private practice, counseling individuals, couples, and families through mental health issues and crises. He’s held various positions as a therapist including being the Director of Counseling on staff at Highlands Church in North Scottsdale, a Clinic Director for New Life Clinics, and teaching academic courses at Pepperdine, Kansas State University, Moody Bible College, Moody Seminary, Barclay College, and Phoenix Seminary. He’s developed and taught two full master’s programs in Family Ministry. He is a contributing author in the book, Marriage: It’s Foundation, Theology, and Mission in a Changing World (Moody Publishing, 2018). He was a speaker with Dr. John Trent for 16 years—author of The Blessing with Gary Smalley, teaching DVD courses with him and developing resources with organizations such as Focus on the Family, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and presenting the faculty training at Moody Bible College. He earned a Master’s in Family Therapy/Studies from Friends University and a Ph.D. in Family Life Education and Consultation from Kansas State University.

Tony Wheeler, Director of the Restoration Institute

Stacey D. Wheeler, M.A. is committed to helping individuals experience healing from past trauma and find hope through faith in Jesus Christ. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Friends University and a Master’s degree in English from Fort Hays State University. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Director of the Restoration Institute at Friends University. From 2009 to 2016, Stacey was a full-time professor at Barclay College, where she taught courses in English and Worship Arts. She also serves as the Director of Communications and Church Planting Support for the Evangelical Friends Church–Mid America Yearly Meeting, which supports 55 churches across a seven-state region. In addition to her academic and administrative roles, she ministers to women through coaching, speaking and leading worship. Beyond her professional work, Stacey enjoys studying Scripture, leading worship, writing and reading. She and her husband, Tony, have been married since 1987 and have three adult children, two sons-in-law and five grandchildren. She especially enjoys time with her family, hiking with Tony and drinking coffee.

Anna M. Carey is driven by a call to reveal the heart of God through music, creative arts, storytelling and pastoral ministry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media Communication with an emphasis on Video Production from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. She is a Development and Communications Specialist at Friends University and the Program and Communication Coordinator for the university’s Restoration Institute. She is a singer/songwriter, worship leader and video producer. She is a co-author of the book Claimed by God, which features 30 declarations, based in Scripture, designed to help women uncover their true identity as a daughter of the King. She lives in St. Paul, MN where she enjoys time spent with her extended family and friends. She is a collector of antiques and a lover of United States presidential history.
