Friends University will host a gallery reception for Friends University visual arts program director, Karen Scroggins. The reception will take place in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery in Riney Fine Arts Center May 24 from 5-7 p.m.
Scroggins, tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, titled her show Past, Present, Future.
“This exhibition focuses on Choctaw and other Native American events and culture. Artwork reflects on the past, present and future of the Choctaws and other tribes,” said Scroggins.
Past, Present, Future will be on display until August 23 and is free and open to the public.
The exhibit is sponsored in part by KMUW, Wichita’s National Public Radio member station and made possible by a Friends University Faculty Research Grant.
