Football Frenzy to give prospective students chance to win year’s free tuition

Friends University will sponsor its first Football Frenzy event Sept. 10 that will give prospective students the opportunity to enter a contest for a chance to win free tuition.

The contest is open to high school freshmen through seniors and to prospective transfer students with at least four semesters of college remaining. Participants can enter a drawing for a chance to pass, punt and kick a field goal at halftime of Friends University’s football game in order to win free tuition at Friends University for one academic year. Participants must successfully complete all three challenges to win.

“We are very pleased to offer this new event at Friends University,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president. “We believe it will create some excitement and gives us a chance to bring a lot of new students to our campus to show them the great things happening here at Friends.”

Before the football game, prospective students will be able to tour the campus, meet with Dr. Carey, talk with the Admissions team about scholarships and the college search process, and enjoy a tailgate dinner.

During halftime, additional contestants’ names will be drawn for other halftime games.

Check-in for an optional campus tour is at 4 p.m., while check-in for students not attending the tour is at 4:45 p.m. The football game kick-off (Friends University vs. University of St. Mary) starts at 7:10 p.m.

Register online at friends.edu/frenzy by Sept. 7. For more information about Football Frenzy, contact the Admission Office at 295-5100 or 800-577-2233.
