Friends University staff, faculty and students will work together to make Christmas a bit merrier for hundreds of needy families in Wichita.
Approximately 150 University representatives will embrace the spirit of the season for the annual Salvation Army Service Day Dec. 12. The group will help prepare and disperse donated gifts.
“Service to others is one of Friends University’s long-standing values,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University. “For 24 years, the work the Friends community contributes makes a significant difference in the Salvation Army’s ability to achieve its goals for the Wichita Mission of Hope campaign.”
The University community will sort toys and gifts, decorate the Salvation Army distribution center, wrap gifts and assist with the organization’s Angel Tree and Star of Hope programs.
