Friends University ranks No. 4 among online colleges in Kansas

Friends University is ranked No. 4 among the best online colleges in Kansas for 2017, as assessed by TheBestColleges.org. Friends University outranks all public universities offering online courses in Kansas.

“Friends University provides quality online programs to adult learners, who are balancing work and family responsibilities,” said Dr. David Hofmeister, dean of the College of Adult and Professional Studies and the Graduate School. “Our online degree programs are among the best in the state as this ranking indicates, and our faculty and curriculum are outstanding. Friends University’s online programs have expanded and adapted with the times to better serve our students

With approximately 12.5 percent of students in the United States and 15.3 percent of students in Kansas enrolled exclusively in distance education courses, Friends University is meeting the public’s demand for high-quality online education options (statistics from the National Center for Education Statistics). Friends University offers several online degrees for adult students, including six bachelor’s degrees and seven master’s degrees that can be earned entirely online. The Global and Professional MBA degrees offer concentrations for students to hone their skills in a specific area. Additionally, Friends offers hybrid programs and courses.

“As professional learning changes, Friends University strives to be on the forefront of innovative and resourceful learning opportunities focused on how and why people need to complete degrees and courses online,” Dr. Hofmeister said. “Friends University has stepped in to fill this need for students in Kansas and across the nation.”

Because Friends University is part of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, students in all states except California can earn a degree from Friends University. A growing percentage of Friends’ online students live out of state. Sixty percent of adult and graduate students are enrolled in online classes and programs.
