Friends University announces next major facility improvement project

Friends University has announced the next major facility improvement project to the Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus. This project is the second phase of the RISE Up Capital Campaign which includes updates and renovations across campus. Phase one encompassed a $2.3 Million renovation to the Garvey Athletic Center in 2021.

Friends University has seen tremendous growth including an increase in fall enrollment, new partnerships, new degree programs and overall giving despite the challenges and hardships of the last several years during the pandemic. Special gifts have been allocated for this project and include $4.5 Million of the seven million needed to complete the Riney Fine Arts Center.

“We are incredibly blessed to have the support to proceed with phase two of the RISE Up Capital Campaign to invest in the future of our fine art students and the arts,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey president of Friends University. “The arts helped sustain our spirits during the uncertainty of the last several years, and our facility has been a blessing to the Wichita arts community and our students for more than 50 years.  This important expansion and renovation of the Riney Fine Arts Center will provide an excellent and collaborative space for decades to come.  The future is bright and we are so appreciative of the many donors that have already contributed to the project.”
