Learning happens inside and outside of the classroom. As you are preparing for professional practice, internships are a very important part of your educational experience. Internships are offered in many different formats:

  • Required or optional
  • Paid or unpaid
  • Local or national
  • Short-term or long-term

Regardless of the type of internship, all experiences can help you better understand your field, gain valuable experience, establish professional networks and prepare for your future. In many situations, internships directly lead to full-time employment following graduation.

At Friends University, we work very hard to ensure that you will gain valuable experience in your field. Advisors, instructors and professional staff work to educate you about different possibilities and how they may positively influence your professional path. Securing a good internship experience can drastically influence your professional career.

Friends University students greatly benefit from attending a college in the city of Wichita. The greater Wichita area is home to outstanding school districts, nationally and internationally respected organizations, a wide variety of non-profit organizations, hundreds of churches and much more. Additional opportunities through Young Professionals of Wichita (YPW) and the Kansas Leadership Center can provide you with ample opportunities to learn, grow and meet other young leaders in the Wichita community.

The following list represents all of the Major options in the College of Business, Arts, Sciences, and Education with information regarding internship hours and recent locations where our students have had positive internship experiences. For more information, please contact a faculty member within your desired field of study or your admissions counselor.
