Friends University, WATC Sign Articulation Agreement

Friends University is partnering with Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) on an articulation agreement that allows students to seamlessly transfer credits from WATC to Friends University.

“We are pleased to partner with WATC on this agreement, which allows a student who completes an associate degree at WATC to be accepted as a College of Adult and Professional Studies student at Friends University,” said Dr. Darcy Zabel, interim president of Friends University. “This agreement recognizes that WATC students have completed their general education requirements and are ready to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Friends.”

Friends University offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees for busy adults at its main campus in Wichita, education centers in Topeka and the greater Kansas City area, and online.

WATC has several locations throughout Wichita and in Pratt, Kansas. It offers certificate programs, technical training and associate degree programs.

“Wichita Area Technical College is partnering with Friends University to meet the needs of 21st century students by offering the best of a hands-on educational experience at WATC coupled with the advanced course work at the hands of world-class professors at Friends University to create a hybrid model of education – all designed to secure careers for students and help the economy of south-central Kansas,” said Dr. Tony Kinkel, president of Wichita Area Technical College. “We think it is the wave of the future.”
