Online health care master’s ranked in top 30 for the third time

Friends University has been ranked as offering one of the top 30 best value Master of Health Administration (MHA) online degree programs in the nation by College Values Online. The ranking, based upon affordability, was published on the organization’s website in November.

Friends University was ranked 24th and is the only program listed in Kansas.

College Values Online’s recognition follows two previous recognitions Friends University’s Master of Health Care Leadership (MHCL) degree program received this year: (1) onlinecolleges.net ranked the program at No. 22 in the nation, and (2) healthcareadministrator.org listed it among the top 30 in the nation.

“Friends University’s repeated recognitions for our MHCL degree program demonstrate the quality and affordability of a Friends education,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University. “Our faculty and staff strive to keep curriculum relevant and engaging while still being a good value for our students.”

The Master of Health Care Leadership degree began in 2008 as an on-campus program and an online option was added in 2010. The degree prepares students for a variety of health care industry leadership positions and covers a wide range of subjects, including management, leadership, law/ethics and marketing. Students come from a variety of health care areas, including allied health, emergency medical services, health care administration, hospital non-nursing, nursing and pharmaceutical.

The ranking was created using data from the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator database. The top 30 best value MHA or related online degrees were selected and ranked based on tuition; schools were awarded points based on a ranking system for both in-state and out-of-state tuition.
