Friends MBA with accounting ranks No. 17 in nation

Friends University’s MBA with an accounting concentration ranks No. 17 in the nation among online MBA programs in accounting, according to Online MBA Today. Friends University’s program is also the top-ranked program at a Kansas-based university.

“Our MBA program is very strong,” said Dr. David Hofmeister, dean of the College of Adult and Professional Studies and the Graduate School. “This year alone, our MBA program has received three other rankings that placed several concentrations, including management information systems and health care leadership, within the top 30 programs in the nation.”

Friends University offers two types of MBA degrees – a Professional MBA and a Global MBA. Both programs offer the accounting concentration (including an online and an on-campus format) and do not require the GRE/GMAT for entrance.

The accounting concentration is designed to develop students’ skills in the functional areas of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, while accommodating students wishing to continue accounting degrees in Kansas, beyond the bachelor’s degree level.

“Our accounting concentration is focused, especially for students wanting to become certified accountants or to go into financial management,” Dr. Hofmeister said.

Students who take all courses required by the Kansas Board of Accountancy (KSBOA) and successfully complete 150 or more credits are qualified to sit for the CPA exam. Additionally, students who have at least two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management can also sit for the Certified Management Accountant CMA) exam.

Online MBA Today based the ranking on estimated tuition cost, accreditation, PayScale, early career salary, prestige and overall graduation rates. For more information about the ranking, visit http://www.onlinembatoday.com/rankings/best-online-accounting-mba/.
