High Touch Technologies sponsors Friends University cyber security program and lab

Friends University is pleased to announce that High Touch Technologies is the technology sponsor of the cyber security program and the INTRUST Bank Cyber Security Laboratory at Friends University.

“We are grateful to High Touch Technologies for sponsoring our cyber security program and laboratory,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University. “Because of High Touch’s generous sponsorship, Friends University will continue to provide students with training using state-of-the-art technology, which is crucial in the field of cyber security.”

Since the fall of 2017, students and local industry professionals have utilized the laboratory’s real-time execution of network attacks and network defense capabilities to train for some of the most complex situations defense experts face. Developed by Metova, the lab’s platform gives a live-virtual cyber range environment for training, exercising and testing full-spectrum cyberspace capabilities.

“Partnering with Friends University’s cyber lab is a great fit for us,” said Wayne Chambers, president and CEO of High Touch Technologies. “The cyber security landscape changes quickly, and we have an increasing need for talented workers in this field. This partnership not only helps us educate and gain access to the best and brightest tech talent in the Midwest, but also allows us time in the lab for ongoing education with our current team. This is a great opportunity for Wichita, and we are proud to be part of it.”

Friends University offers a traditional and an adult bachelor’s degree in cyber security as well as a master’s degree in cyber security. Students are prepared to become highly skilled practitioners and possess the knowledge needed to serve others in defending the critical information infrastructure of the nation’s businesses, government and military. They are ready to move into careers focused on preparedness, prevention and protection against cyber vulnerabilities and threats.
