Friends University’s annual Show Me the Money, rebrands to focus on creative careers

Wichita, KS- Friends University visual arts will host its annual Show Me the Money on Nov. 13 but it will look different than the traditional portfolio review day started 15 years ago.

Interim Director of the Visual Arts Department and well-known face in the Wichita Public Schools, Jenny Venn, is leading the rebrand charge.

“This year we’re taking our Show Me the Money in a new direction and focusing on creative careers in the arts and communications fields,” said Venn. “In light of the global pandemic, we are also going virtual. Going virtual provides us the opportunity to move past the traditional one-day-only event format to a dynamic, ongoing project showcasing new creatives and careers each month.”

Venn will do this by producing a series of micro-interviews and a database of creative career information. This will allow students wanting to pursue a creative profession to learn about career options, gain insight on what it takes to find success and get inspired by some of Midwest’s most talented creatives.

Show Me the Money will launch Friday, Nov. 13 with a virtual expo space that students will have full and free access to year-round. The interview schedule, registration and more information can be found at friends.edu/showmethemoney or by calling 316-295-5913.

Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
