Division of Fine Arts announces events, dates and guest artists for hope-filled 2020-22 season

Wichita, KS- Friends University has announced its 2021-22 Fine Arts events calendar.

Patron favorites such as Jazz Fest and Symphony of Spring are part of the upcoming season. New performances will include a modern farce and screwball comedy, Moon over Buffalo, and the timeless story of Little Women expertily adapted into a musical.

Brass and Boujee, a Kansas City hip hop and big band trio, will be a highlight, performing with Friends University jazz students during homecoming (Oct. 4-9).

Lastly, the sell-out performance of Christmas Candlelight will include some upgrades including a larger venue (Central Community Church), full radio broadcast and collaboration with band, orchestra and small ensembles.

“The Fine Arts Division continues to innovate, perfecting favorites and adding new shows to continue to entertain our patrons and provide educational opportunities for our students,” said Fine Arts Division Co-Chair, Dr. Rayvon T.J. Moore.

“Though we don’t know what the future will hold concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, we will continue to optimistically move forward while maintining an aditude of flexibility.”
