Record-breaking enrollment continues at Friends University  

Friends University carries on the momentum and surpasses last year’s highest number of incoming new student enrollment with significant growth for the 2021-2022 academic year. Last year marked the highest number of incoming student enrollment since 2011.  

Fall 2021 saw a 19 percent increase in new first-time students as compared to a six percent increase last year at this time. The last time enrollment numbers were this high was in 2011. 

Total traditional student enrollment which includes new students, returning students and transfer students saw a 16 percent increase as compared to the fall of 2020.    

Overall student enrollment including traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, adult undergraduate and online programs, is up two percent since fall of 2020. 

“We are thankful to have these solid enrollment numbers and record housing numbers as well,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University. “Being a smaller school we are able to provide a safe, in-person learning experience that students desire. At Friends, we have excellent and dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to living out our mission by providing each student with a caring and personal Christian educational experience.”  

Serving the Wichita area since 1898, Friends University, a small private Christian college provides in-person and online classes for a wide array of majors for both undergraduate and graduate students. The most recently added majors and concentrations at the undergraduate level include mechanical engineering, cyber security, strategic leadership, criminal justice and a concentration in supply chain management.
