Toni Libhart to perform Mallet Percussion Recital at Friends University Jan. 21

Wichita, Kan. – Toni Libhart, an active performer and recently retired educator will be performing a free recital Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. 

Libhart returns to the Friends University stage after serving students for over 30 years in the Fine Arts department as the Assistant Professor of Music and percussion teacher. 

The concert will feature a variety of types of music including sacred choral and hymn arrangements. Libhart will be performing the recital solely with mallet percussion instruments, namely the marimba and vibraphone.  

Judy Chadwick will be accompanying on piano. 

“The final movement of this concerto is aptly named ‘Farewell’ as this is my farewell retirement recital,” said Libhart. 

The performance will take place in Alumni Auditorium in the Davis Administration Building on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan., The concert is free but tickets are required at friends.edu/fineartstickets or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677.
