Friends University Professor Selected for Prestigious National Religion/Theology/Vocation Seminar

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University is proud to announce that Dr. Wendy Mohler Seib, Assistant Professor of Theology at Friends University, has been selected as one of just 12 participants nationwide for the 2026 Religion/Theology/Vocation Seminar sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) through its Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE).

Dr. Mohler Seib was chosen through a competitive nomination process to join a distinguished cohort of scholars and educators from colleges and universities across the country. The seminar, made possible through support from Lilly Endowment Inc., brings together faculty members to explore the intersection of vocation, calling, theology, and religious studies, with a focus on advancing research, teaching, and institutional leadership.

The 2026 seminar was held August 3-7 in Indianapolis, Indiana to provide opportunities for participants to engage in discussions and reflection on vocational exploration in higher education. Topics will extend beyond classroom instruction to include scholarship, writing, and leadership initiatives that help institutions support students in discovering purpose and calling.
