Alyssa Young

Alyssa Young is an Assistant Professor of Marriage & Family Therapy and the Clinical Director (ICT & KC). Young earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at the University of Kansas, and a Masters in Family Therapy at Friends University. Young received her Doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Antioch University New England. Young is the Clinical Director and Assistant Professor in MFT here at Friends University; as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist/ Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family at the Turning the Wave Therapy in Overland Park, KS. Young has received her Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT); her Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); and is a Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Young has over 230 hours of specialized clinical training across four institutions and several scholarly presentations throughout her career.
