Georgeanne Yehling

Georgeanne Elisabeth Yehling is a southern-fried soprano — a dynamic cross-genre singer, actor and teacher passionate about storytelling through music.

Georgeanne received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from nationally-renowned Oklahoma City University, where she had the opportunity to cut her chops in musical theater and opera, performing such roles as Mother Marie in Poulenc’s DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES, Gertrude Stein in Virgil Thomson’s THE MOTHER OF US ALL, Jack’s Mother in INTO THE WOODS and Enid Hoopes in LEGALLY BLONDE.

Georgeanne moved to Kansas in 2015 to pursue her Master of Music in Opera Performance from Wichita State University on full teaching assistantship. While at WSU, she appeared as Vitellia in LA CLEMENZA DI TITO, Zaïre in Rameau’s LES INDES GALANTES and Signora Naccarelli in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA.

Since relocating, Georgeanne has developed a diverse performing and teaching career.

As a performer, Georgeanne has been seen with Central Kansas Concert Opera and regularly performs with Opera Kansas, mostly recently creating the role of Olive Ann Beech in the July 2021 world premiere of STAGGERWING.

As an educator, Georgeanne has been on faculty at Southwestern College and has taught voice and beginning piano at the Wichita Music Academy since 2017 in addition to her rapidly growing private voice studio.

Georgeanne hails from Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was raised backstage as a rock & roll baby. She is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts. Currently, she resides in Wichita with a floppy old beagle, a bean dog and a cat she found outside. She prefers Diet Coke, her favorite Pokémon is Jigglypuff and her pumpkin obsession is something to behold.
