The General Studies Associate degree program is for adult learners lacking a defined major area of study wishing to complete a degree. It allows a student who has completed credits that don’t fit neatly into another degree path to complete a degree in a timely manner.

Program Requirements

Finish Your Degree

Any courses ordinarily accepted for credit by Friends University may be chosen as hours to apply toward the 60 credit hours required for graduation.

Transfer Allowance

Students may transfer in and count up to 40 earned credit hours toward the 60 credit hours required for graduation. Courses meeting the requirements may apply to general education or major requirements . Additional transfer hours may count towards a bachelor degree upon completion of the associate degree.

Finishing at Friends

Students pursuing a General Studies degree must comply with the Friends University Residency Requirement. Residency requirement for the A.G.S. degree requires students to complete 20 of the last 30 hours from Friends University.

30 prior learning credits

Students may apply a maximum of 30 credit hours of university-approved prior learning toward the AGS degree.
