Chapel – Dr David S Cunningham

Dr. David S. Cunningham is director of the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE), a program of the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). He oversees and guides NetVUE activities, working with both the CIC staff and the NetVUE Advisory Council from the NetVUE office based at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where he also holds a faculty appointment as professor of religion. Previously he served as the director of the NetVUE Scholarly Resources Project, overseeing the development and editing of three books published by Oxford University Press: At This Time and In This Place: Vocation and Higher Education (2016); Vocation across the Academy: A New Vocabulary for Higher Education (2017); and Hearing Vocation Differently: Meaning, Purpose, and Identity in the Multi-Faith Academy (2019). His work with the Council of Independent Colleges dates back to 2008, when he served as Senior Advisor and organized the initial Vocation in Undergraduate Education conference in March 2009, which led to the formation of NetVUE.
