Falcon Student Organizations
Friends University offers a variety of activities for student involvement. The clubs and organizations listed below represent many of the opportunities that can help you make the most of your college experience.
Acts of Faith

Acts of Faith is an evangelical, interdenominational ministry outreach of the University drama department. The group consists of students who share a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to serve in performing arts ministry. Auditions are held in the fall semester for the current school year. Students prepare dramatic, comic, pantomime, touring one-acts or musical performance materials for presentation throughout the academic year. The group presents an annual drama ministry showcase as a part of the theatre season and has regularly performed at Faith and Learning, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, and local and regional churches and Christian drama conferences.
Arabesque Society

Arabesque Society is designed to increase the awareness of ballet as an art form throughout Friends University and the community.
Art and Design Society/Kappa Pi

The mission of Art and Design Society is to provide art and design students with a scholastic and career-development-oriented networking group.
Collegiate Music Educators National Conference (CMENC)

CMENC is comprised mostly of Music Education majors. CMENC hosts clinics for our membership, participates in campus activities and attends the KMEA and K-COMTEP state conventions each year.
Concert Choir

The concert choir, approximately 60 members, presents two major programs on campus: Christmas concert and spring concert. The choir performs for various civic and church organizations throughout Wichita and surrounding areas and tours in the spring.
The Crimson Chronicle

The Crimson Chronicle is the student newspaper for Friends University.
Drama Club/Theta Phi

Theta Phi was formed in the fall of 1998 by Friends students with the goal of creating more interest in the theatre arts on campus. The group is open to Friends students regardless of sex, gender, age, nationality, race, creed, disability or way of life. Members actively participate in theatre on campus and throughout the community.
English Club/Sigma Tau Delta

The English Club is open to all students who are interested in promoting literacy, participating in public service in this area and meeting socially with other students interested in creative writing and the life of the mind. The English Club is also the feeder club for admission into the International English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta. To be eligible for initiation into Sigma Tau Delta, students must have a 3.5 GPA in their English major and meet the service requirement. The English Club provides an opportunity to meet that service requirement.
Falcon Activities and Campus Events (FACE)

FACE is the main student programming board at Friends University. FACE is a branch of the Student Government Association and is comprised of six committees: Arts and Entertainment, Classics (Homecoming and Cherry Carnival), Cultural and Social Issues, Falcon Fanatics, Out and About, and Special Events.
Friends Enterprise Club (FEC)

The mission of FEC is to mobilize university students around the world to make a difference in their communities, while developing the skills to become socially responsible leaders. This is achieved through various student-developed and student-led projects that create economic opportunities by helping and educating others. Meetings are generally held every Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the Casado Conference Room.
Friends Community Symphony Orchestra

This orchestra is open to Friends University students, as well as Wichita community musicians. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings.
Health Science Club

The Health Science Club exists to encourage and support Friends University Students who plan to become a medical professional by providing a social framework of like-minded individuals, increasing awareness of current medical issues, publicizing health career opportunities, assisting students with the application process for advanced educational programs, and promoting active involvement in the health and well-being of our community.
History/Political Science Club

The Friends University History/Political Science Club is an inclusive body, open to all students within the University. It serves the University by combating voter apathy among students and promoting political literacy within the University and community. The club provides a deep understanding of political systems (local, federal and global) through student involvement in local politics and frequent participation in the Model United Nations Program.
Jazz Combos

The Jazz department consists of two full jazz ensembles, four jazz combos and the jazz vocal ensemble. Auditions for all groups are during the first week of school each fall. All groups perform several times each semester on campus and occasionally at community events and tours outside of Wichita. The Jazz department also hosts a jazz artist-in-residence each fall and a large two-day jazz festival each February.
Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity

Mu Phi Epsilon believes in the advancement and promotion of musicianship, scholarship and friendship.
Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology

The mission of Psi Chi is to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology. Membership is limited and is by invitation only.
Psychology Club

The organization is designed to bring Psychology majors together for professional development and enrichment. This club provides social gatherings, off-campus trips to graduate schools, professional meetings and applied learning situations. Our retreats, dinners and parties also allow for faculty/student interaction outside of the classroom.
Spanish Club/Sigma Delta Pi

Sigma Delta Pi is a national Spanish honorary organization. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for practice in speaking Spanish and for social interaction with other students of Spanish through community service projects. The Sigma Delta Pi Chapter at Friends University has been named Outstanding National Chapter the last four years.
Singing Quakers

The Singing Quakers have gained an enviable reputation as one of the most distinguished choral organizations in the country. They are an auditioned choir consisting of music majors and non-majors who have had significant choral experience. The purpose of the Singing Quakers is to present the finest choral music in a variety of styles to audiences in Wichita and throughout the United States and internationally.
Student Government Association (SGA)

The Friends University Student Government Association exists to uphold the mission of Friends University by serving the student body with passion and commitment. Student Government offers all students the opportunity to bring positive change to the University community. It also enables members of the CBASE student community to have their opinions heard regarding campus policies, developing trends or new ideas. There are four branches to SGA including: Executive Council, Senate, Falcon Student Organizations (FSO), and Falcon Activities and Campus Events (FACE).
Talisman Yearbook

The yearbook committee produces a quality magazine-style yearbook that creatively and accurately represents the life of Friends University traditional undergraduate programs on a yearly basis. One to three hours of college credit is available.
The Gallery

For one to three credit hours (or on a volunteer basis), students create a literary/art magazine from start to finish, including judging and editing submissions, designing and producing layout, and preparing printer-ready copy.
The Group

The Group exists to promote social justice issues through open discussions about diverse topics. The alliance is inclusive and supportive of student diversity and self-expression within the Friends University community.
TOMS Club

The mission of TOMS Club is to help share the TOMS Shoes story across the nation, and to get Friends University involved in the cause.
University Band

This concert band meets three times a week and presents several concerts each season, including performances featuring internationally renowned guest performers and composers. The band frequently appears before educational conferences and community functions and has toured internationally. Non-majors are welcome, and scholarship opportunities are available.
Zoo Science Club

This club is primarily comprised of Zoo Science and Biology-related majors but is open to anyone interested in the future of the natural world. The purpose of the club is to have fun while gaining hands-on experience and professional skills outside the school curriculum.
