Legacy Ministries

Legacy Ministries is an urban non-profit Christian ministry located in the heart of downtown Wichita. Our vision is to see Christ transform lives through creativity and community. We share Christ’s love through creative adventures focusing on youth in detention and poverty and their families, that Christ might transform both those being served and those who are serving.

Quaker Voluntary Service
https://www.quakervoluntaryservice.org
Quaker Voluntary Service is an 11-month experiment, living at the intersection of transformational spirituality and activism. Young adults work full-time in professional positions at community based organizations addressing a wide range of issues, while living in a cooperative house and worshiping with, and being mentored by, local Quakers. Fellows receive housing, transportation, food, support for health and wellness (including access to health insurance if needed), and a small stipend, while engaging in regular self-led workshops and retreats that allow for continuing education in social justice, faith, and community building topics.

Summit Ministries
https://www.summit.org/programs/
Summit’s Student Conference is a 12-day experience where students discover how to approach questions about life, faith, and what matters. Students who participate in a Summit Ministries conference are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.

Urban Promise
https://urbanpromise.org/programs/interns
Our vision is to be a community in Christ of servant leadership and transformation, seeking a full life for all involved: urban youth, families, volunteers and staff in the neighborhoods of our city. The mission of UrbanPromise Wilmington is to equip children and young adults through Christ with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, personal growth and servant leadership.

Younglife
https://www.younglife.org
Young Life doesn’t start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency. Students who participate in Younglife are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.
