What sessions are required?
If you click on the Full Schedule, the items that are not highlighted are required for all incoming students. Items highlighted in blue are when dining services are open. Optional sessions are highlighted in gray and say OPTIONAL.
Since Orientation is required, why do I need to register?
Students can request accommodations, leave comments, and questions.
What if my guest count changes after I register?
That’s okay! You do not need to inform us of those changes. We just use the number as an estimate.
When can guests attend Orientation?
Guests are welcome to attend Thursday, August 13 through Dinner with the President. Guests are not required to attend Orientation, but we’d love to have them join! If you click on the Full Schedule, sessions guests are invited to are marked by an asterisk (*). Guest-only sessions are marked by an asterisk (*), and are also highlighted in orange.
Optional Parent and Family sessions are offered from 1:30-2 pm, and 2:30-3 pm. The same content will be offered during both times, but the Bienvenido a Friends University Parent and Family session is offered for Spanish-speaking families from 1:30-2 pm only.
How does Orientation Check-In and the FAST Track work?
Even if students are moving in the morning Orientation starts, and go through Move-In Check-In, everyone will need to participate in Orientation Check-In in the Casado Campus Center.
Students are encouraged to get FAST Tracked by August 1st to reduce the amount of time they spend in line. To qualify, students must have finished the following by August 1st:
- Download the iAttended app on your phone and register with your @student.friends.edu email account. iAttended will be used to track Orientation attendance, and to track Spiritual Life Credits during your time at Friends University.
- Have taken a photo for your ID or follow these steps if you are not able to take a photo in person by August 1st.
- Have filled out the Student Parking Registration Form. You will need to know your license plate number to fill out the form.
Students who have not finished the FAST Track tasks by August 1st will go through the normal Check-In line.
Everyone is asked to check in according to last name to prevent long lines. Students will get an email in August letting them know if they qualified for the FAST Track or not, and what time they should arrive for Check-In. If you can’t make your scheduled time, please come when you can.
